Lindenwood Lady Lions Defeat Columbia College 2-1 in Overtime

Box Score The Lindenwood Lady Lions soccer team defeated the Columbia College Cougars 2-1 in the first overtime at Hunter Stadium on Tuesday evening.

The first half saw little offensive action by either side. The Cougars set up offensively in the Lady Lions end for much of the first half but Lindenwood held them to just four shots. The Lady Lions offensive could only muster two shots.

The second half however saw more action with Columbia College's Amanda Cadwell putting the Cougars on top 1-0. Courtney Bresnahan tied the game up at one apiece with just under 15 minutes left in the half. That is where the scoring stopped, forcing the game into overtime.

Lindenwood's Hayley Wagner scored her first goal of the season late in the first overtime to give the Lady Lions the win over the Cougars.

The Lady Lions are now 3-2-1 on the season and will play their first road matches this weekend. Lindenwood will travel to Tahlequah, Okla. on Friday to take on Northeastern State at 7 p.m. and to Edmond Okla. to take on Central Oklahoma on Sunday at 1 p.m.
