Box Score The Lindenwood field hockey team earned a 4-2 win over Rhodes College Saturday afternoon in Memphis, Tenn.
Lindenwood's
Kayleigh Harrower started off the scoring 12 minutes into the match. Harrower's unassisted goal was her second of the season. The Lady Lions struck again 12 minutes later on a goal by freshman
Emily Stephens. The tally was the third on the season for Stephens and was assisted by
Kristi O'Connor.
The Lynx would bounce back making it a one goal game with just under four minutes remaining in the first half.
Lindenwood came out strong in the second half making the score 3-1 just five minutes in. The Lady Lions' third tally came off the hot stick of
Kristi O'Connor. O'Connor recorded her second of the game and 7
th of the season with 15 minutes remaining, giving Lindenwood a comfortable 4-1 lead.
Rhodes College had a late goal but Lindenwood's lead would hold up for a 4-2 victory.
The Lady Lions outshot the Lynx 8-3. Lindenwood also had the advantage in corners with 13 while Rhodes College had only six.
With her two tallies, O'Connor is now averaging a goal a game this season. The junior transfer from Missouri State leads the team in points with 15.
Lindenwood is now 3-4 on the season and will travel to Conway, Ark. for a matchup against Hendrix College at 12 p.m. tomorrow.
