Box Score The Lindenwood field hockey team shut out Mercy College Saturday afternoon with a score of 6-0 in Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania.
The Lady Lions started off the scoring 10 minutes into the match.
Kristi O'Connor scored her first of two goals of the game with a back-hand shot. The next Lindenwood tally came 15 minutes later as Erin DeJesus scored an unassisted goal for her second on the season. Four minutes later, O'Connor scored her second of the match and fourth on the season.
Lynsey Porter added to the lead with 2 minutes remaining in the half to give the Lady Lions a comfortable 4-0 lead heading into the second half.
The second half was no different than the first for Lindenwood.
Kayleigh Harrower scored her second goal of the season 10 minutes in. Four minutes remaining in the game
Kundai Nangati scored on a penalty stroke to close out a 6-0 victory for the Lady Lions.
Lindenwood outshot Mercy College 32-2, 11 of those shots were on goal for the Lady Lions.
Victoria Gil recorded her first shut out on the season, saving both shots on net by the Mavericks.
Lindenwood is now 2-2 on the season and will play Slippery Rock University tomorrow (9/9) at 11:00 a.m.
