Men's Swimming & Diving (Discontinued)

Lindenwood Swimmers and Divers Compete in Washington University Invitational

The Lindenwood swimming and diving teams competed in the Washington University Invitational in St. Louis, Mo. on Friday and Saturday. Of the six competing schools, the men's team finished second in the competition and the women's team finished third.

On the first day of the Invitational, divers Michelle Bell and David Cochran both earned first-place in their respective events. Bell won first-place in the women's three meter diving, while Cochran was victorious in the men's one meter diving. Lindenwood's Schyler Hohenberger also brought home a second-place finish in the men's one meter diving.

The men's 200 yard medley relay team of Ramunas Paknys, Reinis Rozensteins, Arturs Plots, and Ivars Akmentins recorded a second-place finish in that event. Paknys, Rozensteins and Uba Zavaleta also had successful days in individual competition. Zavaleta won the men's 200 Yard Individual Medley, while Paknys came in second-place. Paknys also brought home a first-place finish of his own in the Men's 200 Yard Backstroke. Rozensteins was victorious in the Men's 100 Yard Breastroke.

Lindenwood's men's relay team of Paknys, Rozensteins, Zavaleta and Cody Friedhoff also won the 800 Yard Freestyle Relay to round out the first-place finishes for the Lions.

The second day of the tournament saw divers Bell and Cochran both earn first places in their diving events again. 

The men's 400 Yard Medley Relay team of Paknys, Rozensteins, Akmentins and Gilad Brunfman took first place in their race.

Individually, Uba Zavaleta won another first-place in the 1650 Yard Freestyle and Arturs Plots won the 400 Yard Individual Medley. Plots also won the Men's 200 Yard Backstroke race. Nufar Zilber and Reinis Rozensteins won the women's and men's 50 Yard Freestyle races, respectively. 

The Lion swimmers and divers compete again on January 19th in St. Peters, Mo. against Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
