• In its first contest as a member of the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association, the Lindenwood Lions are set to host conference foe Ohio State in back-to-back matches on January 26 and 27.
• This is the first meeting all-time between the two schools.
• Seven out of the first eight matches this season are against members of the MIVA. The Lions then play 16 straight non-conference matches before ending the season with seven straight conference games.
• This is the only time these two schools will compete in the 2013. Lindenwood will play every school in the MIVA twice.
About Ohio State
• The Buckeyes have started off the season with a 3-2 overall record and 0-0 record in the MIVA.
• Ohio State started the 2013 season ranked 11th in the national preseason coaches poll. The Buckeyes have remained at No. 11.
• Michael Henchy, a 6-7 outside hitter, has started every match for the Buckeyes and leads the team in kills with 66 and kills per set at 3.30.
• Peter Heinen, the team's primary setter, has recorded 203 out of the team's 223 assists.
• Ohio State is averaging 11.70 kills per game while its opponents are knocking down 12.10 kills per game. The Buckeyes have produced a higher hitting percentage than their opponents, hitting at a .280 clip compared to .232.
• The Buckeyes are 1-1 in three-set matches, 1-0 in four-set matches and 1-1 in five-set matches this season.
Lindenwood Notes
• The Lindenwood Lions finished the 2012 season with a 19-13 overall record. The Lions were in the transition year from NAIA to NCAA last season.
• Lindenwood is the eighth and newest member to the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association conference.
• The Lions were picked seventh in the MIVA preseason poll. Lewis was selected as the 2013 preseason MIVA favorite.

Michael Adams is one of the top returning threats in the Lions rotation. The junior was second on the team last season in kills with 283, averaging 2.67 kills/set. Adams also led the team in service aces with 28.
• Junior setter
Tim Schmidt led the team in assists last season as he was the primary setter for the Lions. Schmidt recorded 950 assists during the season.
• Sophomore
Logan Jarus led the Lindenwood defense last season, posting 115 total blocks (17 solo, 98 assists). Jarus also averaged 1.61 kills per set last season.
• Lindenwood recorded 86 more kills than its opponents last season. The Lions hit .245 while holding their opponents to a .223 clip.
• The Lions went 11-7 when matches lasted three sets, 5-4 when they lasted four sets and 3-2 when matches went to five.
• The team recorded a season-high 64 kills against Park last season.
• As a team, Lindenwood held a .962 serve reception percentage. Its opponents posted a .956 percentage.
• The Lions return two of their defensive specialists.
Cory Buehler led the team last year in digs with 186 and senior
David Poole recorded 90 digs in 78 sets.
• Lindenwood wrapped up the 2012 season with two victories. Both of those victories came against MIVA opponents in Ball State and Quincy.
• The Lions finished 3-6 against MIVA opponents last season, including 3-1 over the last four matches.
• Lindenwood hit a season-high .500 against Pfeiffer in 2012. In that match, the Lions recorded 46 kills with only six errors.
• Lindenwood graduated two seniors who saw significant playing time last year.
Jack Mitchell led the team in kills with 361, and
JM Plummer recorded 177 kills.
• The Lions will compete in two tournaments this season. First, the Lions will host the Lindenwood Classic on March 1 and 2. On March 15-16, the Lions will travel to the Quincy Tournament.
• Lindenwood will host Missouri Baptist on January 29 before heading to IPFW for a conference match-up on February 1. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m. in both matches.
