Box Score The Lindenwood field hockey lost in its Friday afternoon game against No. 8 Limestone College 5-1.  This was the second loss of the season for the Lady Lions against Limestone.

Limestone's second leading scorer, Jill Funkhouser, opened the scoring with a shot from a sharp angle that went in between of Lindenwood's keeper Victoria Gil to give the Saints the lead.

A late first half goal for the Saints proved to be a momentum boost as the Lady Lions failed to recover from the late goal.

Lindenwood conceded two second half goals before getting on the scoreboard.  Amelia Rodriguez scored following a penalty corner at the 54 minute mark to cut the lead to 4-1.  The goal would prove to be not enough as the Lady Lions game up a fifth and final goal at the 59 minute mark.

Despite the loss, Victoria Gil added to her saves total with eight in this game. 

Lindenwood drops to 2-7 on the season with its next game coming Oct. 17 at home against Hendrix College.
