Women's Hockey Looks For First Win In Bemidji

Storylines:
- Lindenwood starts a four-game road trip this week with two games at Bemidji State. The teams play at 2:07 p.m. on both Friday and Saturday.

- The Lady Lions are looking for their first win of the season after going 0-5-1 through their first six games. All six of those games were against members of the Western Collegiate Hockey Association

- Bemidji State is 1-2-1, with every game against members of College Hockey America.

- The two teams are playing their second series of the season against each other. Earlier in the year at the St. Peters Rec-Plex, Bemidji State won game one by a 3-2 margin, and the programs tied the second game by a 1-1 score.

- Lindenwood is 0-2-0 this season on the road, while Bemidji State is 0-2-0 on its home ice.

- The Lady Lions are 0-2-1 all-time against Bemidji State. The first meeting was at a neutral site in 2011. The two teams have never faced each other in Bemidji, Minn. before.

- Special teams played a key role in the first series this year with five of the seven goals being on the power play, and another coming just seconds after a power play ended. Lindenwood was three-of-nine on the power play, and Bemidji State was two-of-four.

- In the first meeting between these two teams this year, Brooke Peden had three points with one goal and two assists. Jocelyn Slattery had two goals, and Kendra Broad and Chelsea Witwicke both collected two assists.

- Nicole Hensley had a .940 save percentage and a 1.92 GAA in the series against the Beavers.

A Look Back At Minnesota State
- Last weekend, Lindenwood played at the Lindenwood Ice Arena for the first time this season. The Lady Lions were swept in a series with Minnesota State by scores of 7-1 and 3-1.

- Minnesota State scored five first-period goals in game one of the series, including three in a 30-second span. The Mavericks were four-for-four on the power play in that period.

- The Mavericks scored one goal in each period, and held Lindenwood to just 18 shots in the second game.

- Kendra Broad extended her point streak to five games in the first game of the series, but that streak was snapped in game two.

- Alyssa West scored a goal in the second game of a series for the second straight weekend.

- Lindenwood went one-for-12 on the power play in the series, while the Beavers were four-for-seven.

- Lindenwood had a season-high 31 shots in the second game. Minnesota State had 37 shots in both games, which ties for the second-lowest allowed by the Lady Lions this year.

Lindenwood Notes
- Lindenwood has not been shutout this season, tying for its third-longest streak since starting a full NCAA Division I schedule last year.

- Two freshmen collected their first collegiate point against Minnesota State. Carrie Atkinson and Saville Pickar both assisted on Lindenwood's goal in game two of the series. They are the first Lindenwood newcomers to record a point this year.

- Kendra Broad ranks third in the CHA in points, sixth in goals, and seventh in assists.

- Kendra Broad and Brooke Peden both have three power-play points, which ties for the best mark in the CHA.

- Jocelyn Slattery is tied for first in the CHA with two power-play goals.

- Freshmen Sarah McGall saw her first collegiate action in goal in game one against Minnesota State. She played the final 45:30 and made 23-of-26 saves.

- Kendra Broad leads the team with 22 shots this season. Alyssa West is second with 15, followed by Morgan Church with 13.

- Lindenwood has not allowed a power-play goal this year in the second game of a series. The Lady Lions are seven-for-16 on the penalty kill in game one of a series, and nine-for-nine in game two.

- The Lady Lions are allowing 2.3 goals a game when having four or fewer penalties in a game. They are allowing 6.0 goals a game when having seven or penalties called against them.

- Lindenwood has scored five of its seven goals in the second period. The Lady Lions have not scored a third-period goal yet this year.

College Hockey America Notes
- One CHA team, Mercyhurst, is nationally-ranked. The Lakers are tenth in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll, and receiving votes in the USCHO.com poll.

- The CHA is 9-17-2 in non-conference action this season. Robert Morris has the best mark at 3-1-0, followed by Mercyhurst and RIT at 2-3-0.

- The CHA Players of the Week are: Mercyhurst's Christine Bestland (Player of the Week), Mercyhurst's Amanda Makela and Robert Morris' Jessica Dodds (Co-Goalies of the Week), and Robert Morris' Brittany Howard (Rookie of the Week).

About Bemidji State
- Bemidji State is 1-2-1 on the year. After going 1-0-1 against Lindenwood, the Beavers lost two games against Robert Morris.

- The Beavers are averaging 1.3 goals a game while allowing 2.0 goals a contest.

- Bemidji State is two-for-12 on the power play, while its opponents are three-for-18.

- Kaitlyn Tougas leads the team with three points. Tess Dusik, Kristine Grenier, and Hanna Moher all have two points.

- Brittni Mowat has played every minute in net for the Beavers. She had a .915 save percentage and a 1.97 GAA.

- Head coach of Bemidji State is Steve Sertich. He is in his eight season at the school.
