Box Score The Lady Lions soccer team dropped their first MIAA game of the season to Washburn by a score of 2-1 by a late penalty kick goal on Sunday afternoon.
Washburn had a many early chances one of which was a two on one break with the ball on the right wing that was passed across to a wide open player.
Miranda Huebner recovered just in time to block the shot keeping the game a 0-0.
Bailey Tracy faced some close range shots making key saves to keep the game scoreless. Both teams helped out their goalies in the first half as Washburn blocked 5 shots and Lindenwood players blocked 4. The physical play on every free ball was not scarce as the ball was played on both sides of the field.
Washburn put the first points on the board with a deep pass to Caysie Beetley who chipped the ball over Tracy for the goal in the first two minutes of the second half.

Bailey Cody took a hard shot that was saved but bounced free to the foot of
Kat Roe who buried it for her sixth goal of the year to tie the game at 1-1.
Lindenwood had many more chances the rest of the half include three straight corner kicks but could not net the go-ahead goal.
With the looks of overtime Washburn pushed the ball up the field and was awarded a penalty kick with just 18 seconds remaining. Tracy was beat to her right side giving the Ichabods the lead and the victory.
Lindenwood falls to 8-5-1 overall and suffered its first MIAA game dropping to 4-1-1 in conference play. The Lady Lions will travel to Hays, Kan. to take on Fort Hays State on Friday at 7 p.m.
