The Lindenwood field hockey team came up just a little short in a comeback effort Sunday afternoon losing on the road to Slippery Rock 3-2.

Kristi O'Connor continued to find the back of the net as she scored in the first half helping the Lady Lions get to the half tied at 1-1. The goal came at the 28 minute mark and was her ninth goal this season. She leads the team in that category.
In the second half, Lindenwood conceded two goals early to bring about a two-goal deficit, however the Lady Lions would not give in.
Carly Brengosz netted her third goal of the year with four minutes to play in the game to give Lindenwood a chance.
Unfortunately, the Lady Lions were unable to add the equalizer to take the game into the overtime and lost 3-2.
The loss brought their record to 2-6. The Lady Lions now come up to play the first of five consecutive games at home.
They play Oct. 11 against No. 8 ranked Limestone at 1:00 p.m.
