Men's Soccer Will Face Fort Hays State On Friday

The Lindenwood men's soccer team has learned its destination for the next round of the NCAA Tournament. The Lions, who received byes for the first two rounds, will play Fort Hays State on Friday at 4:30 p.m. The game will be played in Kansas City, Mo. at Bourke Field on the campus of Rockhurst University.

The winner of the Lindenwood/Fort Hays State game will advance to the NCAA Quarterfinals where it will play the winner of the Rockhurst/Lewis contest.

Lindenwood enters Friday's game with a 17-0-3 record and it is ranked first in NCAA Division II. Fort Hays State is 12-4-3 and ranked 20th in the country. The two teams have played twice this season with Lindenwood going 1-0-1. In the regular season, the Lions won 4-3 in St. Charles, Mo. In the MIAA Tournament finals in Olathe, Kan., the two teams tied 0-0 before Lindenwood won the shootout.

On the other side of the Super Regional bracket, Rockhurst is 15-3-3 overall and Lewis is 13-2-5. Rockhurst is 14th in NCAA Division II and Lewis is No. 25. Those two teams have met once this year with Rockhurst winning 2-0 in Romeoville, Ill.

The winner of the Super Regional will advance to the Final Four in Evans, Ga. The semifinal games will be played on Dec. 5 and the championship contest is on Dec. 7.
