The Lindenwood swimming and diving teams competed at the Drury Invitational this weekend with the men taking home third place and the women finishing second.
The women totaled 863 points over the two-day 40 event meet behind host Drury who had 1012.5 points with the men earning
814.5 points
Alecia McGillivray won the 500 yard freestyle for the Lady Lions. She posted a time of 5:04.10 which earned her team 20 points.
McGillivray was also part of the 400 yard freestyle team which finished second out of seven teams. The team posted a time of 3:37.74. The rest of the relay team consisted of
Audra Thornton,
Maike Tweesman, and
Hannah Vinyard.
In the 100 yard freestyle Aly Coleman and
Storrie Cramer finished in the top four of the event. Coleman posted a time of 1:07.3 and Cramer finished with a time of 1:10.44. The two combined for 35 points in this event.
Gustavo Silva Santa won event four of the weekend for the men. He posted a time of 4:35.08 in the 500 yard freestyle over teammate Sylwester Borowicz-Skoneczy.
In the diving event,
David Cochran finished second for the Lions. Cochran finished with a score of 395.45 in the one meter event.
Ramunas Paknys took home the win in the men's 100 yard backstroke. Paknys earned the 20 points with a time of 50.82.
Next up for the team is at the Delta State Invitational Dec. 14-16.
