Box Score 2 The Lindenwood baseball team dropped the final two games against Southwestern Oklahoma on Sunday by a score of 6-1 in the first game and 13-5 in the second game.
Even though the Lions out-hit the Bulldogs, they struggled to score as they left a total of nine runners on base and had just one extra base hit the entire game. Lindenwood committed two errors in the first game and the pitching staff hit six Bulldog batters while giving up just five hits. Lions first baseman
Mike Failoni had two hits in the first game.
Ryan Light scored the lone run after he doubled in the sixth inning. Light also recorded a stolen base in the game.
The Lions surrendered 16 hits and committed two errors in the final game of the series. Once again, the Lions could not find the offense to bring in the 11 runners that were left on base in game two.
Nathan Prindle was able to get a pair of hits, one of which he drove in an RBI.
Colton Moore was able to drive in two runs, one being
Wade Rothermich who crossed the plate twice in the game.
After the four game road trip,
Kyle Kruger leads the team with three stolen bases,
Mike Wilson is hitting .400,
Wade Rothermich and
Kyle Leslie are each hitting above .330.
Lindenwood falls to 0-4 as they begin the 2013 season. The Lions will return home to the Lou Brock Sports Complex on Saturday, February 16 as they open up MIAA play with a doubleheader against Missouri Southern.
