Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lindenwood softball team ended the Eckerd Tournament in Clearwater, Fla. with a 2-0 record on Sunday afternoon. The Lady Lions opened the day with a 12-4 win over host Eckerd, and closed the day with a 3-0 win over Florida Institute of Technology.

In the first game of the day the Lindenwood offense exploded. It started in the second inning when the Lady Lions scored eight runs on four hits, and also had some help from Eckerd which committed two errors.

Lindenwood once again scored in the third inning with a single tally. Eckerd started to try and mount a comeback with one run in the fourth inning and three in the fifth. After Eckerd tried to claw back into the contest, the Lady Lions offense answered back with three runs in the final two innings.

In the contest, Lindenwood outhit Eckerd 10-4. Eckerd also committed five errors in the game while the Lady Lions committed two. Every Lindenwood starter scored at least one run in the win led by Hannah Braun and Lindsay Schroeder who each scored two. Courtney Kitson led the team in RBIs with two.

Kristen Felker started in the circle for the Lady Lions and earned the win after throwing four innings and giving up three hits and three earned runs.

Game two of the day was dominated by Lindenwood starter Morgan Colvis who earned her first collegiate win giving up just three hits and surrendering no runs.

The Lady Lions jumped out to an early lead with a run in the top of the first inning. The only other runs scored in the game came in the top of the fifth when Lindenwood scored a pair.

Kendall Ryndak earned her second save of the season after throwing the final 1 2/3. Kitson, Braun, and Alexander Newcomb led the team with two hits each.

The two wins increase the Lady Lions win total to 3-5. Lindenwood will have some time off before the team travels to Rochester, Minn. for the MIAA/NSIC Crossover Tournament.
