Lions Volleyball Picks Up Sixth Straight Victory

Box Score The Lindenwood men's volleyball team picked up its second victory on its east coast trip, as well as its sixth straight overall victory, after sweeping Limestone 3-0. The Lions handily won by scores of 25-20, 25-16, and 25-20.
 
Lindenwood got down as many as three on several occasions early in the first set, but after a pair of kills by Scott Siwicki and an attack error by the Saints, the Lions tied up the set and never looked back. Lindenwood scored 10 out of the final 15 points to close out the first set.
 
Up 14-10 in the second set, the Lions would produce a 7-1 run to take the 10-point advantage. Colin Hackworth tallied two kills and Michael Adams and Logan Jarus each recorded a kill apiece in that time span. Two out of the final three Lindenwood points were off of service errors by Limestone.
 
The third set started off much like the first set as the Lions found themselves in a hole, down 7-4. Kills by Adams and Hackworth as well as another attack error by the Saints quickly brought the set to a 7-7 tie
 
The two schools exchanged three more ties before the Lions found themselves up by as many as four at 20-16.  Limestone attempted to battle back, cutting the Lindenwood lead to two at 22-20. Siwicki and Jarus contributed two more kills to help finish the match for the Lions.
 
Lindenwood hit at a season-high .413 for the evening while producing 15 more kills than the Saints. The Lions only committed 11 attack errors for the entirety of the match.
 
Hackworth once again led the Lions with a game-high 12 kills while Adams produced 10. Siwicki was the most productive Lion on the attack, recording nine kills on only 10 attempts with no errors. Tim Schmidt led all players on the floor with 30 assists to go along with a team-high eight digs.
 
Lindenwood Improves to 7-6 on the year with a 5-1 mark against non-conference opponents. The Lions will continue their east coast trip with a match against Pfeiffer tomorrow. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. central time.
