Box Score 3 The Lindenwood softball team started the NSIC/MIAA Crossover Tournament 1-2 on Saturday in Rochester, Minn. The Lady Lions won game one of the day 8-1 over St. Cloud State. Lindenwood finished the day losing to Concordia-St. Paul 4-3 in 10 innings and 10-0 to Winona State.
The game against St. Cloud started with Alexander Newcomb giving the Lady Lions the 1-0 lead with a home run into center field. The home run train continued in the fourth inning when
Hannah Braun hit her first of the season. The inning ended with Lindenwood scoring two more runs to lead 4-0.
St. Cloud got on the scoreboard in the bottom of the fourth with a home run. The Lions answered that run with a four run frame in the fifth to take a commanding 8-1 lead.
Braun ended the game with three RBIs and three hits.
Kendall Ryndak chipped in with two hits in three at bats. Ryndak also started in the circle and earned the win. She gave up just one run on three hits.
The second game of the day was a tough loss for Lindenwood. The Lady Lions fell 4-3 against Concordia-St. Paul in 10 innings.
To close out the day the Winona State Warriors dominate from the start. The Warriors started the scoring off with three runs in the first, second and fourth innings.
After going 1-2 on the day the Lady Lions have an overall record of 4-6. Lindenwood will be back on the field tomorrow with a pair of games against Upper Iowa and Minnesota State-Mankato.
