Box Score The Lindenwood men's volleyball team extended its winning streak to 13 on Tuesday night as the Lions defeated Hannibal-LaGrange by scores of 25-12, 25-23, and 25-20. The 3-0 sweep extended Lindenwood's set winning streak to 28 set.
The Lions hopped out to a quick start in the first set, holding the Trojans to 12 points and a .192 hitting percentage. The Lions committed zero hitting errors in the first set while collecting 16 kills.
Hannibal-LaGrange evened things out in the second set, never allowing the Lions to extend their lead to more than two until three-straight serves by
Logan Jarus extended the Lindenwood lead to three at 18-15. After a hitting error by
Michael Adams, the Trojans answered back and found themselves tied with the Lions at 19-all. The two squads continued to battle back-and-forth, but in the end Lindenwood escaped the potential snap of its set winning streak with an ace by Adams.
The third set was much like the second, but halfway through Lindenwood slowly increased its lead to four at 21-17. The Lions closed out the set taking four out of the next seven to win the match.
As a team, the Lions hit .400 as a team behind the lead of
Colin Hackworth who recorded 12 kills.
Scott Siwicki added nine kills of his own at a clip of .562.
Kyle Overby had seven kills on just 12 attempts. Hackworth also owned four of the team's eight aces on the evening.
Lindenwood improves to 14-6 overall and 12-1 against non-conference opponents. The Lions will travel this upcoming weekend to the Quincy Tournament. Lindenwood will face-off against Lees-McRae on Friday at 7 p.m. before playing a pair of matches on Saturday against Erskine (10 a.m.) and Park (1 p.m.).
