Box Score The Lindenwood softball team swept a doubleheader from the McKendree Bearcats on Thursday afternoon in St. Charles, Mo. The Lions won the first game 3-1 and 9-3 in game two.

McKendree started the scoring in the top of the second with an unearned run. The Lions were able to capitalize on a couple of Bearcats miscues which led to three runs. Those three runs are all Morgan Colvis needed. She went all seven innings surrendering just six hits and no earned runs.

Ally Newcomb led the way for the Lady Lions with two hits in three at bats while also driving in two runs.

The second game started with the Lindenwood offense coming out hot. The Lady Lions scored two runs in the first, four in the second, and three more in the fifth inning. McKendree was able to score a runs in the first and two in the third but that was it.

Hannah Braun led the team with three hits and scored three runs. Newcomb also had another big game with two hits and four RBIs.

With the sweep the Lady Lions improve to 8-8 on the season. Lindenwood will be back in action on Friday afternoon with a doubleheader against Upper Iowa starting at 2 p.m.
