Men's Volleyball Extends Winning Streak To Ten After Sweep Of Limestone

Box Score With a 3-0 sweep of Limestone to close out the 2013 Lindenwood Classic, the Lindenwood men's volleyball team extended its winning streak to 10 matches on Saturday afternoon. The Lions won by scores of 25-15, 25-19, and 25-19 against the Saints.
 
Lindenwood was led offensively by Colin Hackworth with 17 kills with just three errors on 28 attempts. He concluded the weekend with 29 total kills at a clip of .418.
 
The Lions started off even with the Saints before a 6-1 run halfway through the first set gave Lindenwood a 16-10. A balanced Lion offense that included six kills in the final 13 points guided the Lions to the 10-point advantage.
 
Lindenwood sailed through the second and third sets, only relinquishing its lead in the beginning of the two sets.
 
Outside hitters Michael Adams and Tim Huizinga also recorded double-digit kills for the Lions, turning in 10 and 12, respectively. Along with Hackworth, Huizinga tallied two service aces in the match. The Lions hit at a clip of .388 in the match and for the tournament, the Lions hit .365 with 118 total kills. Lindenwood's 46 kills in today's match marked the highest three-set total of the season.
 
David Poole led all players on the floor with 11 digs while Tim Schmidt recorded 39 assists to go along with two kills and nine digs.
 
Lindenwood improved to 11-6 on the season. The Lions will have a pair of matches against Fontbonne and Belmont Abbey on March 5 at Fontbonne.
