Volleyball Travels To Quincy For Lone Match This Week

On Tap For The Lindenwood Lions

• Lindenwood has one of its lightest weeks on tap this week. The Lions will travel to Quincy on Wednesday evening before taking the weekend off.

• This is the second time this season that these two schools will meet. Lindenwood took the first match this season 3-1 over the Hawks on February 13.

• The Lions are now 15-6 overall against the Hawks. Lindenwood finished the 2012 last season with a victory against Quincy.

About the Hawks
• Under the direction of Hadley Foster, the Quincy Hawks are 9-16 overall and own a 0-9 mark in the MIVA.

• After the match against Lindenwood, the Hawks are set to have four more conference matches on their schedule. They will end the regular season at Ohio State on April 12 and 13.

• Quincy is led by freshman Jack Gamache who is averaging 3.01 kills per set. Gamache has recorded 262 total kills and a team-high 301.5 points this season.

• Chris Lynch is the primary setter for the Hawks, averaging 9.13 assists per set. He also leads the team with 0.29 service aces per set.

• Brian Peth leads the team with 174 digs this season.

• This match marks the eighth straight home match for the Hawks. Quincy will remain at Pepsi Arena for two more regular season matches against Ball State and IPFW before traveling to Ohio State on April 12 and 13.

• Quincy's last victory came against Erskine at the Quincy Crossover Tournament on March 15. The Hawks defeated the Flying Fleet in five sets.

Upset Special
• On March 22, the Lindenwood Lions upset the No. 7 Lewis Flyers on the Hyland Arena floor.

• The Lions picked up a three-set sweep over the Flyers, winning by scores of 25-24, 26-24, and 26-24.

Colin Hackworth led the team with 18 kills at a clip of .389.

• Besides the national championship game in 2009, this was one of the biggest wins in program history.

• Lindenwood held Lewis' Geoff Powell, who is second in the conference in kills, to just four on Friday evening.

• The Lions hit .315 as a team while holding Lewis to just a .231 mark.

• Lindenwood committed just 13 attack errors compared to 19 by the Flyers.

Scott Siwicki hit .667 on the evening with nine kills on 12 attempts.

Michael Adams led the team with three service aces in the match.

Lindenwood Notes
• With five games remaining on the 2013 schedule, the Lindenwood Lions are 17-9 overall and 3-6 in the MIVA.

• The Lions are averaging 12.3 kills per set.

Colin Hackworth is leading the team and is sixth in the conference with 3.32 kills per set.

Scott Siwicki is leading the conference in hitting percentage with a mark of .431.

• Three Lindenwood players are in the conference top-10 in service aces per set. Tim Huizinga is second in the MIVA with an average of 0.55 service aces per set. Hackworth comes in at number three and Tim Schmidt is tenth.

• Lindenwood is third in the nation in service aces per set. Only Mount Olive and Coker have a higher mark than the Lions.

Tim Schmidt is 18th in the nation in assists per set with 9.98.

David Poole is fifth in the conference in digs per set with 2.35.

• Lindenwood is sixth overall in the conference in team hitting percentage with a mark of .235. The Lions are holding their opponents to a .197 mark, which is good enough for third in the conference.

MIVA Conference
• Lindenwood is the eighth and newest member to the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association conference.

• The Lions were picked seventh in the MIVA preseason poll ahead of Quincy.

• The Lions finished 3-6 against MIVA opponents last season, including 3-1 over the last four matches.

Next Up For The Lions
• Lindenwood will take the weekend off before hosting IPFW and Ball State on April 5 and 6.

• The Lions will wrap up the 2013 season at Grand Canyon on April 11 and 13. Lindenwood will not be eligible for the MIVA conference tournament due to its provisional status.
