Lions Increase Winning Streak To Twelve On Tuesday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lindenwood men's volleyball team picked up its 11th and 12th consecutive victories on Tuesday night, defeating Belmont Abbey and Fontbonne in straight sets. The Lions have now won 25 straight sets dating back to its 3-2 victory over Carthage in February.
 
The Lions came out in the first match and defeated Belmont Abbey by scores of 25-28, 25-19, and 25-19. Despite hitting at a clip of .129 as a team, the Lindenwood defense stepped up and held the Crusaders to just a .057 hitting percentage for the evening.
 
Colin Hackworth led the Lions offense with 12 kills while middle blocker Scott Siwicki added nine at a clip of .389. Tim Schmidt led the team with 32 assists and Casey Calder contributed four assists. David Poole owned six out of the team's 19 digs in the match. Hackworth also recorded four service aces in the match.
 
Against Fontbonne, the Lions won by scores of 25-17, 25-21, and 25-19. Lindenwood improved on the attack with 42 kills at a team clip of .271. Kyle Overby stepped in and tallied a floor-high 10 kills on 17 attempts while senior JeVaughn Saunders added seven kills.
 
Lindenwood improves to 13-6 overall and 11-1 against non-conference opponents. The Lions will take the rest of the week off before hosting Hannibal-LaGrange on March 12. First serve in Hyland Arena is scheduled for 7 p.m.
