Box Score The Lindenwood men's volleyball team wrapped up the 2013 season on Saturday in Phoenix, Ariz. against conference foe Grand Canyon. The Antelopes defeated the Lions 3-2 after picking up the 3-1 victory on Thursday. The Lions fell by scores of 25-21, 23-25, 22-25, 25-23, and 15-11 in the marathon match that lasted over two hours.
Sophomore
Colin Hackworth led all players on the floor with 24 kills.
Scott Siwicki, the conference leader in hitting percentage, continued his consistent play at the net by recording eight kills on just nine attempts.
The Lions hit at a clip of .261 as a team while holding Grand Canyon to a .244 hitting percentage. Both teams recorded 54 assists in the contest. Lindenwood did record more digs (34-32), more blocks (18.0-14.5), and fewer hitting errors (23-29) in the match.
Michael Adams also added double-digit kills on the evening with 10.
Tim Schmidt led all players on the floor with 48 assists and
David Poole recorded a floor-high 11 digs.
Lindenwood concludes the season with a 19-12 overall record and a 5-9 mark as a first-year school in the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association. The Lions are ineligible for post-season play due to its provisional status after making the transition to Division II.
