Box Score The Lindenwood men's lacrosse returned to the win column on Tuesday night at Hunter Stadium with a 10-8 victory over Colorado Mesa.
The Lions trailed 5-3 at halftime but got a big spark in the third quarter from defenseman
Mike Meagher. Meagher went on offense two times in the first four minutes of the period and came away with two goals to tie the game.
The Mavericks did score two times late in the third quarter to lead 7-5, but the fourth quarter was all Lindenwood. The Lions tied the game with two man-up goals. Just 37 seconds after tying the game,
Andrew Szczepan put Lindenwood ahead for good. The Lions added two more goals to complete a 5-0 run and to provide insurance after the Mavericks scored one more with 2:14 remaining.
Lindenwood outshot Colorado Mesa 40-27, including a 22-15 advantage on shots on goal. The Lions also had 18 more groundballs and scored three more man-up goals.
Matt Schenk led Lindenwood's offense with three goals and an assist.
Brandon Stuebing had two goals and one assist, and Meagher had the two goals in the third quarter.

Jon George, and Szczepan had the other Lindenwood goals, and
Carter McCracken had the other assist.
Michael Helfant helped the Lions control possession by winning 16-of-20 faceoffs, and he had eight groundballs.
Graeme Hossack collected nine groundballs and caused five turnovers.
Jake Redlingshafer had the win in goal, making seven saves.
Lindenwood improves to 6-4 on the season. The Lions end their home season this Saturday with a 4 p.m. conference game against Ohio Valley.
