Lindenwood Baseball Falls to Harris-Stowe on Tuesday

Box Score Lindenwood baseball fell to Harris-Stowe 8-3 on Tuesday at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.

The Lions fell behind early giving up four runs in the first inning.

Nathan Prindle helped the Lions get back in the game with a solo homerun to lead off the second inning.  Ryan Light hit a two-out double and crossed the plate on a single by Nick Kolley to make it a 4-2 game.

Lindenwood put three consecutive runners on base with one out in the fifth inning.  Kyle Nelson drew a walk and moved to second on a Mike Failoni single.  Colton Moore doubled to drive in Nelson but Failoni could not advance past third base.

The Lions stranded two runners with the score of 4-3 in favor of Harris Stowe at the end of the fifth inning.

Harris Stowe scored three runs in the sixth inning and one in the seventh for the 8-3 win over the Lions.

Steffen Simmons started the game for the Lions going five innings with seven strikeouts while giving up six runs on six hits.
Alex Erb threw four innings in relief allowing just two runs and striking out seven batters.

Prindle had a home run along with his two-hit day and Wade Rothermich had two hits of his own.  Failoni extends his hitting streak to 23 games.

Lindenwood drops to 13-15 on the year.   The Lions will host Central Missouri who is ranked third in NCAA Division II Baseball Rankings.  The doubleheader is set to start at 1 p.m. at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
