Box Score Lindenwood baseball drop final game of weekend series with Northeastern state 11-4 on Sunday.
The Lions could only score four runs on four hits, two which came from
Colton Moore.
Wade Rothermich started the third inning with a single to left field and advanced to second on a SAC bunt by
Zach Kurzejeski.
Colton Moore hit a singled that drove in Rothermich to tie the game.
Down 6-1 in the top of the fifth the Lions added a couple runs on the board. After Rothermich reached on a fielder's choice Kurzejeski hit a two-run home run making it a 6-3 game.
The Lions added one more run in the top of the seventh when
Ryan Light scored on a fielding error late in the inning.
In a 6-4 game going in to the bottom of the seventh Northeastern State put up five runs to make it 11-5 and kept it there the rest of the game.
Zac Pearman threw 6 1/3 innings giving up nine runs, six being earned, on eight hits and took the loss.
Mike Failoni could not extend his hitting streak that was at 27 games before Sunday's game but reached on an intentional walk which continues his on-base streak to 30 games.
Kurzejeski hit his first home run of the season and now has a hit in 11 of his 13 games played.
Rothermich is on a 12-game hitting streak and Moore with an 11-game hitting streak.
The loss puts Lindenwood at 15-18 on the year and 13-12 in the conference. The Lions return home on Tuesday to take on Truman State for a conference doubleheader starting at 1 p.m. at the Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Mo.
