Women's Soccer Surrenders Late Goal in 2-1 Loss to UMSL on Sunday

Box Score The Lindenwood women's soccer team fell to UMSL by a score of 2-1 after a late goal on Sunday afternoon on the final day of the Embassy Suites Invitational.

Freshman Kat Roe made a couple of moves and scored which gave the Lady Lions a 1-0 lead late in the first half. The goal was the first career goal for Roe.

The Lady Lions played well for most of the game until they gave up a goal in the 72nd minute to tie the game at 1-1. Each team had great chances late in the game but UMSL eventually found the back of the net again to take a 2-1 lead and held on for the win.

Day two of the Embassy Suites Invitational was delayed 45 minutes due to weather. Game one featured Northwestern Oklahoma State University and Emporia State. Emporia held on for the 1-0 win.

With the loss the Lady Lions fall to 1-1-0. Lindenwood will travel to Springfield, Ill. to take on Illinois Springfield at 6 p.m.
