Kris Dorn Collects First Victory At Lindenwood

Box Score Lindenwood men's volleyball head coach Kris Dorn picked up his first coaching victory at Lindenwood on Saturday evening. The Lions defeated NJIT by scores of 25-22, 18-25, 25-20, and 26-24.

The Lions clinched the victory with a come-from-behind win in the fourth set. Lindenwood never led in that set until a block by Tim Schmidt and Scott Siwicki gave the Lions the lead at 23-22. After trading sideouts for four straight points, Lindenwood won the match with another block, this one a solo block by Michael Adams.

Lindenwood hit over .300 for the match and had six more blocks than NJIT. The Lions were especially impressive on offense in the first set with a .565 hitting percentage and a sideout percentage over 80 percent.

Offensively, Siwicki led the way with 10 kills and a .556 hitting percentage. Colin Hackworth had a team-high 11 kills, and Adams and Logan Jarus each had nine kills. Hackworth also had three service aces, and Tim Schmidt had 38 assists. Defensively, Siwicki had six blocks and Hackworth had five. Schmidt, Adams, Hackworth, and David Poole all finished with a team-high five digs.

Lindenwood has its home and MIVA opener next Saturday with a 7 p.m. game against Ohio State.
