The Lindenwood men's basketball team lost its second straight game to a GLVC team on Saturday afternoon. After battling back late in the contest the Lions fell 80-76 in St. Louis.

Cory Arentsen had his best game of his Lindenwood career scoring a game-high 25 points on eight-of-12 shooting. Garett Reeg chipped in with 12 points and
Darris Smith scored 11 points.

Lindenwood had another good day shooting but unfortunately the Saints were just a little better. The Lions shot 50 percent from the field and 56 from behind the arc. Maryville shot 57 percent from the field on the way to the win.

The Lions won the rebounding battle 29-21 but turned the ball over 17 times which led to 20 points.

It was a back-and-forth game from the very start with nine ties and 15 lead changes. The largest lead of the game was nine by the Saints early in the contest.

Lindenwood held a three-point lead at the half but was outscored 55-51 in the second half on the way to the team's fourth straight loss. Â

The Lions fall to 4-6 overall and will be back in action on Thursday night against Nebraska-Kearney in St. Charles.Â
