Box Score 2 The Lindenwood men's volleyball team finished the Lindenwood Classic with a perfect 3-0 record after winning two matches on Saturday. The Lions were the tournament's only undefeated team after beating Pfeiffer and Coker.
Lindenwood's offense sparked the team to 25-21, 20-25, 25-17, and 25-20 win over Pfeiffer. The Lions hit .438 in the match as setter
Tim Schmidt directed the offense and recorded 54 assists.
Michael Adams was the team's top hitter with 21 kills and a .500 hitting percentage.
Colin Hackworth finished with 16 kills, and
Scott Siwicki had 10 kills and four service aces. Defensively,
David Poole had 13 digs, and Adams and
Zach Bequette each had three blocks.
In the tournament's final match against Coker, Lindenwood won by scores of 25-20, 25-17, and 25-18. Lindenwood hit .468 for the match and held Coker to a .159 hitting percentage.
Hackworth had another big contest with 17 kills and a .625 hitting percentage. The rest of the lineup was balanced as
Tim Huizinga had eight kills, Adams had six, and Bequette and Siwicki each had five. Other team leaders were Schmidt with 38 assists, Siwicki with five service aces, Poole with six digs, and Hackworth with three blocks.
Lindenwood has now won five straight and is 6-2 on the season. The Lions will be home next Friday and Saturday for a two-game MIVA series versus Grand Canyon.
