Jake Duckworth received his first collegiate start on Thursday and he sparked the Lindenwood men's volleyball team to a 3-1 win over Belmont Abbey. The Lions opened up their Carolina road trip with a 25-27, 25-17, 25-20, and 25-16 win.
Duckworth finished with 19 kills and he had a .556 hitting percentage for the match. He also had five digs and two blocks.
Colin Hackworth recorded a match-high 21 kills and he hit over .400. In the middle,
Scott Siwicki put down 14 kills and he hit .722.
Tim Schmidt led the Lions with 60 assists and 10 digs.
David Poole also had 10 digs, and
Zach Bequette and Hackworth each had three blocks. Bequette and Siwicki recorded four aces apiece.
Lindenwood hit .414 for the match and had 69 kills, 39 more than Belmont Abbey. Belmont Abbey hit just .121 for the match.
Lindenwood improves to 9-4 on the season. The Lions next travel to Limestone on Friday evening.
