Box Score 2 The Lindenwood softball team once again split a pair of games at the Eckerd Tournament in Clearwater, Fla. The Lady Lions beat Eckerd 9-6 in eight innings and fell 2-1 to Barry in the last game of the day.
To start the second day of the tournament off Lindenwood scored four runs in the top of the sixth to send the game to extra frames then scored three in the eighth for the come-from-behind win.
The big blows in the eighth were back-to-back doubles from
Madison Huot and
Alexis Theis which brought in the game-winning runs.
Courtney Kitson led the team with two hits and
Christina Young drove in a pair of runs.
Brooke Miller made the start on the rubber for the Lady Lions but did not figure into the decision after going 4.1 innings.
Morgan Colvis came in for relief and won her first game of the season.
In game two, Barry took the first lead of the game with a run in the bottom of the third inning. The Lady Lions answered back quickly with a single tall of their own in the top of the fourth. The game stayed tied until the bottom of the seventh when Barry scored a run for the win.
Bailey Marshall led the way for Lindenwood with three hits in three at bats.
Kendall Ryndak started in the circle and suffered her second loss of the season.
