Men's Volleyball Too Much For McKendree

Box Score The Lindenwood men's volleyball team had little trouble with first-year program McKendree on Tuesday night at Hyland Arena. The Lions swept their regional rival by scores of 25-11, 25-19, and 25-17.

Lindenwood hit .443 for the match and it held McKendree to a negative hitting percentage. The Bearcats had just 19 kills in the match, compared to 38 for the Lions. Lindenwood also recorded eight more team blocks, four more digs, and five more service aces.

Jake Duckworth came off the bench to record seven kills and a .545 hitting percentage. Colin Hackworth also had seven kills in the match. Zach Bequette finished with six kills and a .750 hitting percentage. Other team leaders were Tim Schmidt with 31 assists, Tim Huizinga with four service aces, eight digs, and four blocks, Logan Jarus with four blocks, and Hackworth with four blocks.

Lindenwood was able to get some new faces into the lineup in the match. Brandon Thompson was libero for much of the match and had seven digs and three assists. Ted Klefner had two kills and two blocks, and Brian Keough had two kills and one block. Thomas Cruz added one kill and Joe Newland saw action for the final two points.

Lindenwood improves to 14-6 on the year. The Lions will compete in the McKendree Crossover Tournament this Friday and Saturday in Lebanon, Ill.
