Men's Volleyball Sweeps Two Opponents On Friday

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lindenwood men's volleyball team swept two matches on day one of the McKendree Crossover Tournament. The Lions won 3-0 over Barton and Belmont Abbey.

In the opener, Lindenwood defeated Barton by scores of 25-22, 25-19, and 25-14. The Lions hit .413 in the match while holding Barton to just over .100 hitting.

Tim Huizinga led a balanced team effort with nine kills and seven digs. He had a .667 hitting percentage in the match. Michael Adams finished with eight kills, Colin Hackworth had seven, and Zach Bequette had six. Tim Schmidt had 29 assists, Hackworth led the team with three service aces, and Adams had a team-high three blocks.

In the second match, the Lions earned a 25-12, 25-14, and 25-18 victory over Belmont Abbey. Lindenwood continued its hot hitting with a .500 percentage. The Lions had 43 kills, compared to 18 for Belmont Abbey.

Hackworth led Lindenwood with 15 kills and a .636 hitting percentage. Huizinga was also in double figure points with six kills and five service aces. Adams just missed double-figure points with eight kills, one aces, and one block assist. Schmidt led the team with 31 assists and eight digs. Logan Jarus led the team's blocking attack with four blocks.

Lindenwood continues play at the tournament on Saturday with a 2 p.m. match against King.
