Box Score 2 The Lindenwood softball team split a pair of games against its sister school Lindenwood-Belleville on Thursday night in St. Charles. The Lynx won the first game of the day 5-3.
Kendall Ryndak was the story in game two throwing a no-hitter in a 12-0 win for the Lady Lions.
The first game of the day started with the Lynx scoring a run in the first and second innings to jump out to the early 2-0 lead. The visitors added to the lead with a pair of runs in the fourth. The Lions finally got on the scoreboard in the fourth with one run.
Lindenwood-Belleville would score its fifth run of the game in the sixth inning. The home team tried to claw its way back into the game with runs in the sixth and the seventh but it wasn't enough.
Courtney Kitson and
Madeline Bohr each had two hits and Kitson also added a RBI.
Morgan Colvis started for the Lady Lions and took the loss after tossing seven innings and surrendering just two earned runs.
The nightcap was all about Ryndak. The junior gave up no hits in the Lindenwood win. She only allowed one base runner which was a fourth inning walk. That runner was eventually thrown out so Ryndak faced the minimum number of hitters in the game.
The big blow of the game was a grand slam by Diedre Merli. She ended the game with five RBIs.
Alexis Theis also drove in two runs while Bohr scored a run and drove a run in.
After the split the Lady Lions record runs to 9-12 on the season. Lindenwood will head out on the road this weekend when the team travels to Nebraska-Kearney for a Saturday afternoon doubleheader.
