Lady Lions Swept at Central Oklahoma

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lindenwood softball team travelled to Edmond, Okla. to take on the Central Oklahoma Bronchos, defending national champions. The Lady Lions were swept by the Bronchos losing game one 7-0 and fell in game two 9-1.

Things started off quickly for Central Oklahoma. The Bronchos scored one, two, and three runs in succession in the first three innings. The home team added its seventh run in the fifth and earned the shutout. The Lady Lions mustered just two hits in the contest. Kendall Ryndak started in the circle for Lindenwood and pitched five innings while taking the loss.

The second game of the doubleheader wasn't much better for the Lady Lions. The Bronchos took a 5-0 lead after three innings. Lindenwood scored its only run of the day in the top of the fifth but Central Oklahoma scored four runs in the bottom of the inning to run rule the Lady Lions.

The two losses dropped Lindenwood to 2-9 overall and 0-2 in MIAA play. The Lady Lions will be back in action Monday afternoon against the Northeastern State Riverhawks.
