Softball Team Splits Doubleheader Against Pitt State

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lindenwood softball team split a conference doubleheader for the third straight series on Tuesday afternoon. The Lions fell to the Pittsburg State Gorillas 5-1 and won the second game 7-1 in Pittsburg, Kan.

The first game of the day was dominated but the Pitt State pitching staff. The Lady Lions could only muster two hits.

The Gorillas scored a run in the first and two in the second and that was all the home team needed. Courtney Opich and Brittany Rozier were the only Lady Lions to get hits.
After going into a slumber in the opening game of the day the Lindenwood offense woke up in game two. The Lady Lions compiled 11 hits and seven runs in the night cap.

Madison Huot hit her second home run of the season and drove in a run. Kendall Ryndak drove in three runs and also scored a run. Bailey Marshall and Hannah Braun also had a pair of hits on the night.

Following the split the Lady Lions run their record to 12-15 overall and 6-6 in MIAA play. Lindenwood will stay on the road and take on the Missouri Southern Lions Wednesday afternoon.
