Box Score The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team fell to ranked Lake Erie College Saturday afternoon by a score of 13-7. The loss ended the Lions three game winning streak that had brought the team back to .500 in ECAC play.
The Storm came out fast and furious scoring six goals in the first quarter including one with only two seconds left in the quarter.
The game opened with a Lake Erie goal followed by a Lindenwood goal from Troy O'Donnell. Unfortunately, Lindenwood would concede five unanswered goals before McNein Hewitt scored midway through the second. The visitors added one more score late first half goal to lead 7-2 going into the break.
Lindenwood tried to mount a comeback in the second half cutting the deficit with the help of two more Hewitt goals to give him a hat-trick on the day.
Lake Erie would go on a run of goals maintaining a big lead; however the Lions did add two late goals. Carter McCracken scored followed seconds later by Graeme Hossack.
Adam Ure took the loss in net for the first time on the year. The loss dropped Lindenwood to 3-6 overall and 2-3 in ECAC play. The Lions are back in action next Saturday at Seton Hill University.
