Men's Volleyball Ends Regular Season With Loss

Box Score The Lindenwood men's volleyball team ended its regular season on Saturday evening with a 3-0 loss to IPFW. The Lions lost the MIVA match by scores of 25-23, 25-22, and 25-18.
 
The turning point came late in the second set as Lindenwood was attempting to tie the match at one set apiece. The Lions led 20-18, but IPFW rolled off five straight points and eventually won by three points. IPFW then jumped out to a 9-3 lead in the third set and Lindenwood could never get back into it.
 
IPFW finished with 12 more kills in the match, and also had more aces, digs, and blocks. IPFW hit .389 for the match, compared to a .302 mark for the Lions.
 
Kyle Overby led Lindenwood with 11 kills and Michael Adams had 10. Adams hit .474 for the match and also led the team with six digs and three blocks. Tim Schmidt finished with 35 assists.
 
Lindenwood ends the regular season with a 19-11 overall record and it finished sixth in the MIVA with a 4-10 mark. The Lions will face Ball State next Friday at 7:30 p.m. (eastern) in the first round of the MIVA Tournament.
