Box Score 2 The No. 5 Missouri-St. Louis Tritons were too much for the Lady Lions softball team on Wednesday afternoon. The Tritons swept the doubleheader after a 4-2 win in game one and a 12-4 victory in the night cap.
Lindenwood jumped out to an early lead in the top of the first inning when Diedre Merli reached on an error which scored
Madeline Bohr.
Morgan Colvis started for the Lady Lions and shut down the Tritons for three innings but in the fourth Katie Rutledge hit a grand slam that put the home team up for good.
The Lady Lions could only muster two hits in the contest.
Brittany Rozier led the way for Lindenwood with a home run.
Game two did not start off too well for the Lady Lions. The Tritons exploded for 10 runs in the first inning and cruised to the 12-4 win.
Madison Huot and
Brooke Tiehes each had two hits and Merli drive in a pair of runs for the Lindenwood offense.
The two losses dropped the Lady Lions record to 17-24 overall.
