Box Score The Lindenwood men's lacrosse team led early but eventually lost in a Saturday afternoon game against Seton Hill 13-8 on the road.
Coach Jim Lange's Lions came out firing on all cylinders with the first three goals of the game forcing a Seton Hill timeout. McNein Hewitt scored followed by Matt Schenk and David Corazalla in a two minute span.
The home team would mount a comeback, but Lindenwood did hold the lead 4-2 after the first quarter of play.
The Griffins would dominate the second quarter scoring five goals to just one for the Lions giving Seton Hill the lead 7-5 at the half.
Lindenwood's leading scorer Brandon Stuebing would score18 seconds into the second half to cut the deficit to just one. Three straight Griffins goals followed that making the score10-6 before Stuebing's second goal of the game. Hewitt would score on a blistering shot for his second goal of the game to make it 10-8.
Unfortunately for the Lions, Seton Hill would pull away late to get the win 13-8. The loss dropped Lindenwood to 3-7 on the year and 2-4 in ECAC Conference play.
Lindenwood returns home for a non-conference showdown against in-state opponent Rockhurst Tuesday night at Hunter Stadium. Face-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
