Box Score 2 The Lindenwood softball team ended a long road trip with a pair of losses to the Missouri Southern Lions on Wednesday night in Joplin, Mo. Missouri Southern won the first game 6-1 and then the nightcap 8-0.
Missouri Southern jumped out to an early lead in game one and never looked back. Missouri Southern scored three runs in the first two innings and that was all it needed. Lindenwood scored its only run in the fourth inning.
Courtney Kitson had a good game at the plate going three-for-three in the loss.
Brooke Miller started but lasted only 1 1/3 innings.
Game two was not much better for the Lady Lions. Missouri Southern jumped out to a quick lead with five runs in the bottom of the first inning. Lindenwood had four hits on offense led by
Courtney Opich who had two.
The two losses dropped the Lady Lions to 12-17 overall and 6-8 in MIAA play. Lindenwood will finally return home on Friday afternoon when Southwest Baptist comes to St. Charles.
