Box Score The Lindenwood's men's lacrosse team won in impressive blowout fashion Tuesday night against the visiting Rockhurst Hawks 23-5.
Matt Schenk opened the scoring less than a minute into the game with his first of three first-half goals. Schenk wasn't the only Lions player to net a hat-trick in the first half.
Josh Coons scored his third, fourth, and fifth goals of the season in the first half of the game.
Faceoff specialist,
Michael Helfant won a draw late in the half and proceeded to run down the field untouched before firing the ball into the back of the net for his first goal this season.
Lindenwood led the Hawks 12-1 at the end of the first half; however the second stanza would prove to be much like the first. The Lions outscored Rockhurst 11-4 in the second half.
Joe Roy and
Ben Beath each had a pair of goals in the half while Jake Rohan scored his first goal of the 2014 campaign. Senior,
Brett Morrison also scored his first goal of the season and that came in the second half.
Jake Redlingshafer earned his second win of the season with his performance. He allowed just one goal while making five saves.
The win brought Lindenwood's record to 4-7 on the season. Next up is the final home game of the season Saturday against conference foe Alderson Broaddus at Hunter Stadium.
