Lady Lions and Jennies Each Win a Game

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 The Lindenwood Lady Lions softball team split another MIAA series on Saturday afternoon in St. Charles. The Lady Lions won the first game of the day 2-0 but fell in the final game of the day 8-0.

The first game of the day was a pitcher's duel. The only runs came in the bottom of the third inning when Madeline Bohr hit a two out triple that scored two runs. Those two runs were plenty for Lindenwood starter Kendall Ryndak.

The junior from Downer Grove, Ill. surrendered just four hits and struck out five in the complete game win. Courtney Kitson led the Lindenwood offense with three hits while Courtney Opich, Mallory Eitel, and Hannah Braun all had two hits each.

The second game was all Central Missouri from the very start. The Jennies scored three runs in the first inning and then another tally in the second to take an early 4-0 lead. Central Missouri then closed the game with four runs in the sixth inning to short game the Lady Lions 8-0.

With the split Lindenwood runs its record to 14-19 overall and 8-10 in MIAA play. The Lady Lions will travel to Leabanon, Ill. to take on the McKendree Bearcats on April 9.
