Box Score The Lindenwood women's soccer team got ahead early in the second-half, but a UCO goal would be the deciding factor on Sunday afternoon at Hunter Stadium as, after a pair of overtime periods, ended in a 1-1 draw.
Â
The first-half witnessed very few chances by either team. Central Oklahoma had five shots, but only one on goal, while two of the four Lady Lions' shots found its way to the keeper. Lindenwood's best chance to give itself a lead happened with just three minutes remaining in the half when
Jamie Rozzell slipped past the defense as
Danielle Torry squeezed a through ball past a pair of Bronchos. UCO was able to get a few shots off from the corners of the box, but nothing imminent.
Â
The Lady Lions went on the attack early in the second-half, firing a pair of shots and getting a corner opportunity.
Autumn Olendorff fired a shot from the top of the boxThe next thirty minutes played similarly to the first-half with each team exchanging minimal chances. The Bronchos maneuvered the Lindenwood defense sporadically getting good looks at Lady Lions' goalkeeper
Jordan Gnolfo, but were unable to capitalize. Receiving three corner kicks within ten minutes late in the half also proved ineffective as the Lindenwood defense held strong. Â
Â
In the 81st minute, Torry stole the ball at midfield and dribbled through a couple defenders to find
Kat Roe in the box, when she was fouled. The Lady Lions received a penalty shot, and Roe drilled it just passed the diving goalie on the right side of the net.
Â
It didn't take long for the Bronchos to respond. In the 82nd minute, Caitlin Moore fired a rocket from the edge of the box over the outstretched arms of Gnolfo to score her first of the season.. UCO tried to build off its momentum, still attacking and forcing a corner kick. Sublett found a teammate in the box, but Gnolfo was there to save it. With under a minute remaining in regulation, Lindenwood's
Jackie Lindner drove down the field and found Roe, who turned past a defender and fired a shot on goal. UCO's keeper mishandled the shot at first, but was able to bring the ball in as
Alexis Robbers was sprinting from the top of the box to try to put away the rebound.
Â
Neither team could score and Lindenwood headed into its sixth overtime match of the season. UCO dominated much of the first overtime period getting most of the opportunities, but were unable to put it past Gnolfo.
Â
In the second overtime period, each team had its chance to score the winning goal. Roe got loose again and put a shot on goal that Stover turned away. With neither team executing in either overtime period, the match ended in a draw.
Â
Lindenwood moves to 3-7-4, and  will host Northwest Missouri this Friday at Hunter Stadium with a 5 p.m. kickoff.
