The men's swimming and diving team finished third and the women's team finished fifth Friday night at the Show-Me Showdown featuring a mixture of Division I, II, and III teams across the NCAA.
Leading the way for the men's team was Skoneczny Borowicz, who won the 500 free with a time of 4:36.93.
Felix Eigel, who finished fourth in the 200 IM with a time of 1:53.78, also finished seventh in the 100 back. Close behind him was
Mateusz Pacholczyk with a time of 1:54.94 finishing seventh. Pacholczyk also finished fourth in the 100 back, less than two seconds behind the first place finisher. Three men finished in the top 10 for the Lions in the 3m dive;
Schyler Hohenberger,
David Cochran, and Brennan Dolley finished fifth, sixth, and ninth, respectively.
Cochran placed second in the 1m dive with a score of 247.20.
The men's team finished third with a total score of 329 points, only 36 behind the second-place finisher Missouri State.
On the women's side,
Carleen Wayne finished second in the 1m dive with a score of 233.85.
Alecia McGillivray placed fourth in the 500 free with a time of 5:05.90.
Ewa Dymarek also finished fourth, but in the 100 breast at 1:05.86.
The women's team tallied 292 points, just 13 points behind fourth-place finisher Truman State, to take fifth place.
Both men's and women's teams compete again Saturday in the Black & Gold Meet in Maryland Heights, Mo. at 1 p.m.
