Men's Swimming & Diving (Discontinued)

Silva Santa, McGillivray lead S&D to Wins Over LU-Belleville, Maryville, and UMSL

The Lindenwood men's and women's swimming and diving teams played host to Lindenwood-Belleville, Maryville, and Missouri-St. Louis Saturday afternoon and took care of business winning each of its dual meets by a wide margin in St. Peters, Mo.

Gustavo Silva Santa had a nice day in the pool, winning two of his three races and finishing second in the other. Silva Santa won the 200 free by the slimmest of margins hitting the wall at a time of 1:41.35, which was good for .02 seconds quicker than the runner-up. Again, this time in the 500 free, Silva Santa won by .02 seconds finishing at 21.80. In the 200 IM, the junior placed second with a time of 1:55.40.

Mateusz Pacholczyk also led the Lions winning the 100 and 200 breast with a time of 57.66 and 2:06.66, respectively. Felix Eigel won the 500 free finishing with a time of 4:40.54.

The men's team won each relay race. Brady Williams and David Cochran finished first and second, respectively in the 1m dive, while Schyler Hohenberger placed first in the 3m dive with Cochran also finished second.

Overall, the men defeated LU-Belleville 238.00 to 54.00, Maryville 265.00 to 6.00, and UMSL 251.00 to 41.00.

For the women, Ewa Dymarek won the 200m with a time of 2:24.14. The Poland-native also finished fourth in the 200 free.

Alecia McGillivray kept up her performance this season, with winning the 200 free and the 200 IM. McGillivray was one of five ladies to finish in the top six in the 50 free. Bethany Steffes, Abby Maricle, Audra Thornton, and Trisha Ishikawa placed first, third, fourth, and fifth, respectively, in the event.

Kyleigh Troxel gave another win for the women after placing first in the 1000 free with a time of 10:45.13.

Ashley Holloway and Carleen Wayne led on the diving board for the women. Holloway won the 1m dive with a score of 271.71and Wayne winning the 3m with a score of 2:49.08. The women also won each relay race on the day.

In the dual contests, Lindenwood beat LU-Belleville 248.00 to 32.00, Maryville 255.00 to 1.00, and UMSL 244.00 to 34.00.

Both the men's and women's teams aren't back in action until they travel to Cleveland, Miss. For the Delta State Christmas Invite December 12-14.
