The Lindenwood men's basketball team had its worst shooting night of the season in a loss to the Missouri Western Griffons 67-58 on Saturday afternoon in St. Joseph, Mo.

The Lions started the game quickly but the Griffons quickly took control of the game. After falling behind Missouri Western took advantage of a poor shooting first half by the Lions and headed into the locker room leading 29-22.

The second half wasn't much better for Lindenwood. The Lions were able to get within single digits just a few times but could not get over the hump and fell to the Griffons for the first time in program history.

Lindenwood shot 35 percent from the field and 31 percent from behind the three-point line. Missouri Western dominated the glass outrebounding Lindenwood 40-31.

Cory Arentsen led the way scoring 16 points and grabbing seven rebounds. Chanse Creekmur was second on the team in scoring with 14 points.

The loss dropped the Lions to 15-8 overall and 10-4 in MIAA play. Lindenwood will be back home on Wednesday night to take on the Southwest Baptist Bearcats.
