The No. 3 Lindenwood women's lacrosse team used a strong first half to defeat No. 12 West Chester on Friday afternoon in West Chester, Pa. The final score against the NCAA Division II powerhouse was 13-10 in favor of Lindenwood.

The Lady Lions gave up the first goal of the game, but bounced back by scoring the next six.
Sophie Buelow scored three straight in that span, and
Jordyn Constance had two goals and one assists. Lindenwood ended the half with a 9-3 lead. The Lady Lions won 11 of 13 draws in the half and outshot West Chester by a 15-9 mark.

West Chester evened play in the second half but not enough to get back into the game. It got within four at 11-7, but the Lady Lions answered with two straight goals to seal the win. West Chester added three goals in the final five minutes to make the final score closer.

Amanda Schimpke each had a team-high four goals and one assist.
Jordyn Constance had three points, and
Maddi Ossello had a team-high two assists.
Melissa Menchella had just one goal, but it was the game-winner.

Rachel Ortell made eight saves in the game, and she also had team-highs with five groundballs and two caused turnovers.
Bailey Knapton had 10 draw controls.

Lindenwood improves to 4-0 on the season. The Lady Lions will be in action on Sunday at Millersville.
