The Lindenwood swimming and diving teams both had top-10 finishes at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. The program won three individual national championships, and had 21 swimmers and divers earn All-American or honorable mention All-American honors.
The Lindenwood men's team finished third overall out of 32 programs. The Lions had 359 points at the meet, 232 points more than its inaugural meet last season. Queens won the national championship with 433.5 points, while Drury was runner-up with 417.5. Rounding out the top five were Wayne State with 285 points and Florida Southern with 273.5 points.
On the women's side, the Lady Lions finished tenth out of 39 teams with 160 points. Lindenwood also improved over last year when it had 83 points. Queens also won the women's title with 540.5 points. Lindenwood finished 14 points behind Delta State, and 43 points ahead of West Florida.
Lindenwood won three individual national titles at the event.
Alecia McGillivray won the first NCAA title in school history for any sport on the first day after winning the women's 1000 free. On the event's final day, McGillivay also won the 1650 free.
Krzysztof Jankiewicz earned the first men's national title by coming in first in the 100 back.
Fifteen Lindenwood swimmers have earned All-American honors. On the women's side,

Six swimmers and divers also earned honorable mention All-American honors.

Maike Tweesmann were the women's honorable mention award winners, and

Schyler Hohenberger,
Joseph Martin, and
Arturs Plots were men's honorable mention All-Americans.
Day One RecapThe highlights of day one was McGillivray winning the 1000 free title, and the men's team scoring 92 points and being among the event's leaders.
In the first finals of the national meet, McGillivray swam the final 100 yards in less than 59 seconds which helped her win the 1000 free title. Her winning time was 9:58.42, and she was the only swimmer to crack the 10-minute mark in the race. Kirchner finished 16th in that event to account for the 21 points earned by the women on the day.
The 1000 free was also the top event for Lindenwood's men's team as it scored 23 points as a team. Borowicz-Skoneczny was seventh and Silva Santa was eighth in the event.
Lindenwood's men's team had two runner-up finishes on the first day. Golban was second in the 50 free, just 0.03 seconds shy of the winning time. The men's 200 medley relay team of Jankiewicz, Pacholczyk, Golban, and Szczukowski was second with a time of 1:26.73.
Also for the men, Eigel won the "B" final race in the 200 IM to give him a ninth-place finish. Cochrane also had a ninth-place finish in the first diving event of the competition, the three-meter dive.
Day Two RecapOn the second day of action, Lindenwood's men's team recorded 59 points, while the women's team recorded 37. Both teams ended the day in the top-10 in the team standings.
The Lions were led individually by Eigel who finished fourth in the 400 IM. Plots also scored in that event by coming in 14th. In the 200 free, Jonczyk reached the "A" finals and finished eighth. In the 100 fly, Golban came in tenth, and Jankiewicz was 12th. The men's 200 free relay team had a ninth-place finish. That squad consisted of Golban, Jonczyk, Szczukowski, and Martin.
The Lady Lions earned most of its points from its relays. The 200 free team became the first women's relay to reach the "A" finals and it finished eighth. That team consisted of Lesinska, Xavier Cabral, Steffes, and Dahl. The 400 medley relay team of McGillivray, Dymarek, Vinyard, and Xavier Cabral finished 14th. The final points came from McGillivray who came in ninth in the 400 IM.
Day Three RecapThe men's 100 back was the top event of day three for Lindenwood. In prelims, Lindenwood finished one-two-three, with Golban leading the way with a new NCAA Division II record of 46.77. That record stood for just a few hours as teammate Jankiewicz swam a time of 46.65 in the finals to capture the first national championship for the men's program. Jonczyk was second in the finals, and Golban came in fifth.
Two Lions scored in both the 500 free and three-meter dive. In the 500 free, Silva Santa came in fifth, and Borowicz-Skoneczny was 13th. In the final men's diving event, Cochran just missed the finals and finished ninth. Hohenberger was 13th overall in the event. In the 100 breast, Pacholczyk won the "B" finals. The final men's scoring came from the 800 free relay team of Silva Santa, Eigel, Jonczyk, and Jankiewicz which was sixth.
For the Lindenwood women, three swimmers earned All-American honors on the day. Dymarek had the highest finish by coming in fourth in the 100 breast. McGillivray won her fifth career All-American honor by coming in fifth in the 500 free. Vinyard had an eighth-place finish in the 200 fly. In the women's 800 free relay, the team of Steffes, Lesinska, McGillivray, and Xavier Cabral came in 11th overall.
For the day, Lindenwood men's team scored 117 points and moved up to third place. The women's team scored 52 points and stayed in tenth place.
Day Four RecapOn the final day of action, the Lindenwood men's team scored in all five events and finished with 91 points. The women's team scored in three events and had 50 points for the day.
The top highlight on the day was McGillivray winning another national, this time in the 1650 free. McGillivray was in third for much of the race behind Bridgeport's Annagrazia Bonsanti and West Chester's Kendall Somer. McGillivray made her move with 300 yards remaining and moved into first. She then closed out the race with two sub-30 second splits and won with a time of 16:46.25, nearly four seconds of Bonsanti.
Also on the women's side, Dymarek finished seventh in the 200 breast, and the 400 free relay team came in ninth. That team was made up of Lesinska, Xavier Cabral, Steffes, and Tweesmann.
For the men's team, the top event was the 100 free in which two swimmers were in the "A" final. Jonczyk was fifth in that race and Golban came in sixth. In the 200 back, Jankiewicz was runner-up, missing another national title by less than a second. Eigel was 13th overall in that event. In the 1650 free, Silva Santa came in fourth, and Borowicz-Skoneczny was 14th overall. In the 200 breast, Pacholczyk was sixth. In the men's 400 free relay, the team of Silva Santa, Szczukowski, Martin, and Jonczyk came in 11th.
