Box Score 2 The Lindenwood softball team was swept at the hands of the Northeastern State Riverhawks on Saturday afternoon in St. Charles. Northeastern State won the first game of the day 4-2 and fell in game two 5-3.

The Riverhawks got on the scoreboard in the top of the first inning with a single tally. The Lady Lions answered though, and took the lead in the third inning with a pair of runs capped off by a
Rachel Overton double that scored the second run.

Unfortunately, for Lindenwood Northeastern State answered back just two innings later with three runs to take the lead and then held on for the win.

Madison Huot led the way offensively for the Lady Lions with two hits in three at bats including a RBI and a run.
Kendall Ryndak started for the Lady Lions and earned the loss after pitching seven innings and giving up three earned runs.

In game two of the day, it was the Lady Lions who jumped out to the lead. Lindenwood scored a single tally in the first inning to take the 1-0 lead. The Riverhawks came right back though scoring two runs in the top of the second.

In the fourth inning, the Lady Lions tied the score up at two. But once again Northeastern State answered back with a single tally in the sixth and then added to the lead with two more in the seventh. Lindenwood was able to muster a run in the seventh but that was all and fell 5-3.

Ryndak led the team at the plate with three hits and a RBI.
Alexis Theis chipped in with two hits as well as
Courtney Kitson.

The two losses drop the Lady Lions to 3-17 overall and 1-5 in MIAA play. Lindenwood will be right back in action Sunday afternoon with a doubleheader against Central Oklahoma. Â
