Lindenwood gymnastics swept the MIC Weekly awards on Wednesday.
Valeri Ingui was named the MIC Gymnasts of the Week, and
Kierstin Sokolowski was named the MIC Specialist of the Week.
Ingui earned Gymnasts of the Week honors for the third time this season, and helped the Lady Lions win that honor for the fifth straight week. Ingui won the all-around title at the Lindenwood Quad Meet last weekend with a 39.000. It was the second time in her career that she recorded a 39 or higher. Her individual scores for the meet were a 9.625 on the vault, a 9.775 on the bars and beam, and a 9.825 on the floor. She finished in the top five in every event except the vault, and she had top-ten program marks on the floor and all-around.
Sokolowski won her third MIC weekly award of the year, and picked up the Specialist of the Week accolade for the first time. She won the vault competition at the Lindenwood Quad Meet with a score of 9.9. That score set a program record for the vault, and was just the second 9.9 in Lindenwood history for any event. She was one of just three gymnasts to score a 9.8 or higher on the vault. Sokolowski has now won the vault competition in four meets this year, including the last three events that Lindenwood has competed in.
Ingui and Sokolowski helped Lindenwood finish with 194.000 team points, marking the fourth time that it has reached that mark over the last five weeks. The Lady Lions are now ranked first in the MIC, and also have the highest qualifying score among NCAA Division II programs.
